10) HR Trends And Some Major Challenges facing in 2022

Biggest HR Trends in 2022

As we enter 2022, changes in how we work, where we work, who we work with, why we work, and the technologies we use are in continual flux. Many of these changes started prior to the pandemic, were accelerated by it, and have become permanent aspects of the workplace.

The recent trends seen in international HRM are no exception.

Adopt Remote Work Policies

  • While some employees will prefer working from an office, many more have discovered over the past two years that they are happier and more productive working from home. If we don’t offer this level of flexibility, it will drastically impact our ability to attract, retain and engage talent.
  •  We’ve seen companies announce their return to office plans and the ensuing backlash from their employees in the media; it is clear that our employees feel that they are more productive without a commute, forced socialization with coworkers, and cubicle walls.

Administering Progressive Benefits

  • The idea of a job rings a different bell in today’s young minds. They seek an open work culture with accommodating mentors, opportunities to innovate, flexible working hours, etc. They also expect progressive benefits such as more family time, the option to choose remote working, extended vacation time, paternity leaves, etc.
  • Inclusion of progressive work culture has become a necessity, and the focus must lie on integrating it in a way that is beneficial to both the employer and the employees.

Globalized Talent Pool

  • Another global HR strategy that became trending in 2022 is the globalization of talent acquisition. Previously, the geographic location and consent to relocate was an essential aspect of hiring.
  • This took a major step back during remote working. Globalization enabled cross-border recruitments to unfold a vast array of talent pools to choose from. After all, hiring the top talents has always been HR's top priority.

Diversity

  • Globalization of the talent pool enabled diversity. A wider array of people can be included irrespective of their country, race, or language.
  • Thus, in a way, this new strategy and trend unifies the work environment and creates better opportunities on a global scale. Also, this diversity is a mandate for the global growth of the business.

AI in HR

  • The next global HR trend is the use of AI in HR. With AI being integrated into our everyday tasks, this comes as no surprise.
  • AI-driven process and decision automation speed up the HR tasks while improving the quality. Optimization of the human-automation combination is bound to transform the future of the HR domain.

Prioritize Social Media and Brand Awareness

  • Social media and brand awareness tend to go hand in hand.  Never before has HR been so tied into company branding strategies and how it affects employees, potential candidates, and the business itself.
  • Sales and Marketing have always been in lockstep but HR now plays a role in this as well. Social media is here to stay, so the sensitivities around that must always be front and center for the whole organization. It is a bit of new world order and the tentacles of social media and branding run deep and in every direction to influence the business.

Retrain Employees to Overcome Competition

  • Reskilling and upskilling are crucial for businesses to continue being competitive, high-performing, and high-productive in the future.
  •  RH is now redesigning and developing new ways to retrain employees to bring the best levels of performance and productivity. The challenge is that market, or industry trends change fast, so discovering how to keep retraining in this scenario is essential. Not having reskilling and upskilling as part of the strategy will be detrimental to a company's plans and policies.
